ABSTRACT In this article, we have made a type of carbon black/organic silicone rubber (CB/OSR) composite medium and analyzed the effect of different carbon black contents on the terahertz wave shielding efficiency of the composite medium. The tested results show that the CB/OSR with a thickness of 2.5 mm and a carbon black content of 8% has terahertz absorption rate of over 99%, and the total terahertz shielding effectiveness mainly based on absorption reaches 27.69 dB. When the external tension changes from 0 to 20 N, the total shielding effectiveness of the composite medium decreases from 27.69 to 24.78 dB. When the thickness changes from 2.5 to 7.5 mm, the total shielding effectiveness of the composite medium increases from 27.69 to 63.51 dB. The experimental results indicate that the developed composite medium can effectively reduce terahertz wave reflection and achieve the main electromagnetic shielding function of terahertz wave absorption. Due to its small size and light weight, it has good application prospects in the field of terahertz wave shielding.
