• Lamiaceae plants possess potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anticancer properties. • Key bioactive compounds include flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolic acids, saponins, and essential oils. • Anticancer effects involve apoptosis induction, cell cycle arrest, and angiogenesis inhibition. • Lamiaceae-derived compounds may enhance qawq2e conventional therapies through synergistic effects. The Lamiaceae family comprises several well-known medicinal plants, including Ocimum basilicum, Thymus vulgaris , and Salvia officinalis . The Lamiaceae family has attracted scientific interest due to its broad pharmacological activities. This review comprehensively examines the therapeutic potential of Lamiaceae plants, emphasizing major bioactive compounds and mechanisms of action, with particular focus on anticancer activity and synergistic effects with conventional therapies. The relevant literature was reviewed to identify the pharmacologically active constituents of Lamiaceae plants and to analyze preclinical and clinical studies examining their biological effects and therapeutic mechanisms. Lamiaceae species are rich in bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolic acids, saponins, and essential oils. These compounds exhibit potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antifungal, and anticancer properties. The underlying mechanisms include free radical scavenging, inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators, suppression of microbial growth, and induction of apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, and anti-angiogenic effects in cancer cells. The review also highlights preclinical and clinical evidence supporting the anticancer potential of key Lamiaceae species and examines their synergistic effects with standard treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and antimicrobials. Lamiaceae plants offer promising therapeutic benefits across a range of diseases, particularly cancer. Their bioactive compounds, through diverse molecular mechanisms, hold potential for integration into clinical practice, either alone or in combination with existing therapies. This review provides a scientific basis for further research and development in this field.
