Key Points

  • This review aims to evaluate the effects of aquatic exercise on fitness, body composition, and metabolic markers in older Korean women.
  • Narrative review of 20 research articles published between January 2015 and August 2025
  • Analysis focused on physical fitness factors, body composition, and metabolic markers
  • Reviewed studies employed various aquatic exercise interventions
  • 83.3% of studies reported significant improvements in physical fitness
  • 86.7% of studies showed significant enhancements in body composition and metabolic markers
  • Most prevalent exercise types were combined exercises (85%) with intensity rated as moderate to high (95%)
