Ecological effects and multi-factor synergistic driving mechanisms of antibiotic mixtures in aquatic–terrestrial transition zones

BZBo ZhuTWTao WangJHJian Huang

Key Points

  • This research aims to explore the ecological effects and driving mechanisms of antibiotic mixtures in transition zones.
  • Detailed analysis of antibiotic presence in Chaohu Lake
  • Assessment of ecological risks associated with tetracyclines
  • Evaluation of nutrient levels including TN, TP, and NH3-N
  • Tetracyclines were identified as the most prevalent antibiotics
  • Algae experienced significant ecological risks in these zones
  • Nutrients like TN, TP, and NH3-N were found to be key drivers of these effects

Abstract

An in-depth study of antibiotic mixtures in Chaohu Lake aquatic–terrestrial transition zones is presented. Tetracyclines were the most prevalent, algae faced higher ecological risks, and nutrients (TN, TP, and NH 3 -N) were key drivers.
