"The History of Maharashtra in Haryana: A Discursive Study in the Context of Marathi Historiography."

Short Abstract This study examines the historical relationship between Maharashtra and Haryana through the perspective of Marathi historiography. It highlights the eighteenth-century Maratha expansion into Northern India, particularly the Third Battle of Panipat (1761), which created significant cultural and historical connections between the two regions. The paper explores these interactions not only as military events but also as processes of cultural exchange, social integration, and intellectual dialogue. It concludes that the Maharashtra–Haryana connection reflects the broader idea of Indian unity in diversity and demonstrates how regional histories contribute to national integration.
