Abstract The article deals with the response of an infinite thermoelastic microelongated plate in the context of the dual phase lag model, which is loaded with viscous fluid layers. An internal heat source of constant magnitude is acting in the plate. The thickness of the plate is assumed to be 2d 2 d. The analytical expressions of displacement, stresses, microelongation, and temperature field are obtained by the normal mode analysis technique. The numerical values of the expressions are evaluated using MATLAB. The graphical results are presented to show the effect of different types of viscous fluid layers.
