This experience report presents a successful initiative implemented in a 100% SUS public hospital, a regional reference in the interior of São Paulo state. Effective health communication plays a strategic role in promoting patient safety, strengthening institutional culture, and disseminating evidence-based practices. Investing in tools that optimize communication across sectors and between professionals and patients is an increasingly necessary need in hospital settings. To strengthen the culture of preventing Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) through continuing education and sharing local data, encouraging teams’ protagonism in building improvement strategies. A bimonthly digital newsletter called “SCIH News” was created for infection prevention and control. Content is produced by the SCIH team based on monthly meetings with task division: defining the target audience, selecting relevant topics based on the health calendar (e.g., Julho Amarelo, Setembro Dourado, Outubro Rosa), writing texts, developing layout, technical-scientific review, and distribution. Circulation occurs through physical means (hospital bulletin boards) and digital channels (institutional messaging groups), encouraging interaction through polls, suggestions, and feedback. Playful elements such as word searches, challenges, and prizes are used to boost engagement. SCIH News significantly increased the visibility of infection prevention and control actions. The strategy sparked team interest, promoted reading of unit-level indicators, and encouraged proactive discussions during multiprofessional meetings. Participation in institutional messaging groups increased, and adherence to internal campaigns improved, demonstrating the positive impact of structured communication on routine care. Creative and accessible communication tools such as an institutional newsletter strengthen bonds between the SCIH and care teams, promote continuing education, and consolidate prevention as an institutional value.
