ABSTRACT In this paper, a Janus metasurface for independent manipulation of reflected wave in different space is investigated. In this reflective metasurface good isolation between the two orthogonally polarized reflection elements is achieved for incident waves from different space. By utilizing this property, we have implemented reflected vortex beam in front of the metasurface and reflected high‐gain beam behind the metasurface. Good radiation performances are obtained for both reflected vortex beams in +z space and reflected directional beams in ‐z space. With low structural complexity and low fabrication cost, this metasurface will a simpler solution for independent manipulation of electromagnetic (EM) wave for different spaces.
