Abstract

The administrative behaviour of school heads plays a decisive role in shaping institutional efficiency, teacher performance, and student learning outcomes. This study examines the administrative behaviour of secondary school heads in Bareilly district, focusing on planning, organization, communication, and decision-making. A descriptive survey method was used, and data were collected from 50 secondary school heads selected through stratified random sampling. The Administrative Behavior Scale (ABS) developed by Dr. Haseen Taj (1998) was employed as the primary tool. Results reveal no significant differences across gender, school type (government/private), and school medium (CBSE/UP Board) in administrative behaviour. The findings highlight that administrative behaviour is relatively uniform across demographic categories. The study offers implications for professional development, leadership training, and school governance reforms.
