This research aims to study the rights and duties of volunteer doctors in volunteer medical work, by analyzing the legal, ethical and professional aspects that govern this type of medical practice. Volunteer medical work is one of the most prominent forms of humanitarian service, and contributes effectively to filling health gaps in poor or crisis-affected communities.Despite the noble nature of this work, volunteer doctors face legal and regulatory challenges that may affect their performance and participation in this work. This study addresses the rights that a volunteer doctor should enjoy, such as: the right to legal protection while practicing his work, ensuring insurance against health and occupational risks, obtaining appropriate training and rehabilitation before starting volunteer work, in addition to his right to a safe and equitable work environment. This study also seeks to analyze the gap between legal texts and real practices, and proposes a number of recommendations to develop regulations governing volunteer medical work, including the inclusion of explicit texts in health legislation related to medical responsibility in the event of an error during volunteer work, and the establishment of control committees to ensure ethical and professional commitment by doctors and beneficiaries alike. The duties of the volunteer doctor contribute to increasing the demand for medical volunteer work, as well as ensuring a safe and effective environment for both service providers and recipients.
