Abstract Fluoroscopic evaluation of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) has declined in recent decades due to increased availability of endoscopy as well as cross-sectional imaging such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. We describe the evolving trends of fluoroscopic evaluation of GIT in the past few decades, review contrast agents and standardized protocols, and demonstrate the range of pathology diagnosed and modern use cases through a case series.
