Soft Robots In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202510298), Mostafa Mousa, Alberto Comoretto, Johannes T.B. Overvelde, and Antonio E. Forte present a multifunctional reconfigurable fluidic unit that can be used as a sensor, valve and actuator. A unique configuration combines the features of the three components as a responsive self-oscillating actuator. Synchronisation passively emerges in networks of these oscillating actuators, enabling locomotion. The remarkable versatility of the fluidic unit is demonstrated by building different robots with the same fluidic units, only by varying their arrangement and connections.
