View Full Paper
FCFederació de Cooperatives Agràries de Catalunya

Key Points

  • The aim is to develop innovative tools for managing manure and fertilisers, improving crop quality in the Catalan agricultural sector.
  • Assessment of best available techniques in various farms
  • Training sessions for farmers on implementation of methods
  • Analysis of soil chemical fertility to guide fertilisation practices
  • Identified effective BATs tailored to different farm conditions
  • Decreased reliance on mineral fertilisers
  • Provided actionable recommendations to lower phosphorus levels in soils

Abstract

FERTICOOP aimed to develop innovation tools for a better management of manure and agricultural fertilisations, achieving a valorisation of slurry and improvement in the quality of the extensive crops that are produced. This flyer focuses on the evaluation of BAT in different farms to identify the chemical fertility of soils and to reduce the amount of phosphorus in soils. Outcomes include: • Evaluation of different BATs depending on the characteristics of the different fields and training farmers on them. • Reducing the use of mineral fertilisers. • Evaluation of recommendations to reduce phosphorus in different soils.
