The adoption of Educational Technology (EdTech) in low-resource schools has been a subject of interest globally, with Kenya being one of the African countries facing significant educational challenges. The study employed a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative data from school records to analyse trends and patterns in EdTech usage. A notable theme emerged regarding the significant increase in EdTech adoption by teachers, particularly in areas where internet connectivity was available. The proportion of schools implementing digital learning tools rose from 10% in to over 35% by . Despite initial challenges such as cost and infrastructure limitations, the analysis reveals that EdTech has positively impacted student engagement and learning outcomes in some settings. Policy recommendations include investing in robust internet infrastructure and providing ongoing professional development for teachers to maximise the benefits of digital tools.
