Abstract The Metadisciplinary Knowledge Synthesis (MKS)-Thronaxis The framework has been subject to premature dismissal by critics who conflate it with interdisciplinary collaboration, transdisciplinary boundary erosion, or eclectic aggregation. This The paper provides a rigorous conceptual defence by formally distinguishing four modes of knowledge organization: eclecticism (aggregation without governance), multidisciplinarity (additive juxtaposition), interdisciplinarity (horizontal exchange and integration), transdisciplinarity (boundary transcendence), and metadisciplinarity (vertical governance). Drawing upon established scholarship in the philosophy of science and knowledge synthesis methodology, this paper demonstrates that MKS-Thronaxis operates through a fundamentally distinct logic— one that governs rather than dissolves disciplinary boundaries, synthesizes rather than aggregates, and provides constitutional architecture rather than horizontal collaboration. By clarifying These distinctions, this paper preempts straw-man critiques and establishes the unique contribution of metadisciplinary governance to contemporary knowledge organization.
