This study presents an approach to emerging diverse tactile sensations using lattice structures fabricated through additive manufacturing technology. Flexible and uniquely deformable tactile samples were produced using TPU and assessed through compression tests and sensory evaluation experiments. Principal component analysis identified two key characteristics: “gradual-monotonic tactile sensations” and “variations in rebound force” Furthermore, samples that received higher average ratings for being “interesting” were positioned at the extremes of the principal component score plot, indicating the possibility that samples with pronounced characteristics may lead to more favorable impressions. Based on this hypothesis, additional tactile samples were designed and fabricated, showing the possibility of creating tactile samples with targeted characteristics. These findings contribute to the development of diverse tactile sensations that evoke relaxation and interest.
