Key Points

  • The research aims to clarify the logical necessity of phase transitions and the implications for physical theories.
  • Clarification of foundational axioms in physics
  • Critique of continuous calculus as macroscopic approximations
  • Proposal of discrete difference geometry for reformulation
  • Establishes phase transitions as logical necessities, not ad-hoc mechanisms
  • Demonstrates the failure of traditional mathematical tools at fundamental scales
  • Validates the concept of a self-preservation mechanism in the universe

Abstract

This version marks a fundamental clarification: phase transitions are not mechanisms inserted ad‑hoc to patch theoretical gaps; they are logical necessities that grow directly from the two foundational axioms. Moreover, it demonstrates that the mathematical tools traditionally used to describe the universe—continuous calculus—are macroscopic approximations that fail at the fundamental scale. To be logically consistent with a discrete substrate, physics must be reformulated in terms of discrete difference geometry. The insight that the universe possesses a “self‑preservation mechanism” has guided this work from its inception. Version 3.3 proves that this intuition is not metaphysical speculation but a logical truth derivable from the most basic physical axioms and their corresponding mathematical structures.
