Santalum album (Sandalwood) is an important medicinal and commercial plant belonging to the family Santalaceae. It has been traditionally used for treating various ailments such as skin diseases, swelling, fever, headache, and chronic cough. In the present study, ethanol and aqueous solvents were used for the extraction of leaf and stem samples for phytochemical analysis. The results showed that most of the phytochemical constituents were present in the ethanol extract. Furthermore, silver nanoparticles were synthesized using both leaf and stem extracts. The ethanol extracts exhibited significant antioxidant activity, including DPPH radical scavenging activity and total antioxidant activity. The extracts also demonstrated notable antimicrobial activity. Both extracts were analyzed using GC-MS, which provided valuable information about the bioactive compounds present in Santalum album. The findings of this study suggest the potential use of this plant in the development of medicines for viral and other diseases.
