Abstract

Primary health education is keys to preventive care. Health educators try to teach people to be responsible for their own health and health care. Areas within this profession enclose environmental health, physical health, mental health, social health, intellectual health, and as well as spiritual health education. The objectives of health education include developing positive attitudes about health issues and imparting knowledge for decision making. The ultimate goal of health education is to maintain and improve the health of individuals and communities. An extensive health education programme plays a significant role in children’s education from kindergarten to high school. Health education teaches children physical, mental, social, and psychological health. It helps students to improve and preserve their health, by making healthy choices to avoid illness and reduce risky behaviour. Health education helps students to develop the awareness, skills, and positive attitudes of towards health. Various Indian philosophies have long highlighted health education. Some examples are Yoga and Vedanta philosophies. In keeping with that trend, there are many Indian modern educationists who have enriched health education in their educational thought. Many philosophers have left an impression on this health education in their educational thought. Among them are Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo Ghosh and others. All of these philosophers taught that health is wealth and how important health education is to increase concentration of mind. Here are the views of different philosophers about different types of health education.
