Abstract

The conference presentation examines how Citizens’ Parliament in Slovenia, held in Ljubljana, in 2025, within the project Mapping Media for Future Democracies (MeDeMAP) enabled participation at three levels - deliberation, citizen demands, and policymaking - and argues that these innovations can transform how citizens, media, and policymakers interact. The paper was presented at the conference Beyond the Audience: Rethining Participation and the Power in the Age of Data Capitalism, organised by IULM in Rome on 15-16 January 2026, with the MeDeMAP project.
