Abstract

The Ceiling Protocol is a domain-independent forcing function for quality judgment. It defines five multiplicative dimensions — Craft Density, Cross-Domain Synthesis, Temporal Durability, Irreducible Compression, and Asymmetric Leverage — that operate as simultaneous constraints on output quality. If any dimension collapses to zero, compound quality collapses with it regardless of strength elsewhere. Built through four iterations of cross-platform blind peer review across Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok — sixteen independent reviews total — with each version filtered through its own five dimensions and rebuilt where it failed its own test. The protocol can be prepended to any brief, embedded in any AI agent's operating instructions, referenced at any review gate, or internalized as a permanent decision filter. It requires no domain-specific knowledge to apply. It requires significant domain-specific knowledge to satisfy.
