Increasing attention is being paid to “mathematics, data science, and AI” as “reading, writing, and abacus” in the digital age. In the field of education, “data science” has been added to the information section of the high school curriculum guidelines announced in 2018, and there is a growing need to promote data science education from the junior high school stage to ensure a smooth connection with studies at the high school level. However, research focusing on data science in junior high school technology courses, which play a central role in data science education, is still in its infancy. In this study, we develop learning materials for the purpose of fostering the basic knowledge of data science in junior high school technology studies and accumulate practical examples.
