This paper is a summary of the design and execution of a task-based learning activity created to supplement the 'health' themed chapter of the class textbook. The task involved students learning about and measuring their heart rate and blood pressure, and briefly discussing their results, all through English. The purpose of the task was to raise student interest and motivation by using English to learn about something both personally relevant and useful, and it seemed to succeed in this. This activity employs a 'content and language integrated learning (CLIL)' approach and could also be incorporated into a broader course, for example, physical education.
