Abstract

For the recent past, specifically with the global experiences of COVID-19 pandemic and infodemic, the everyday means of knowing has become such an overwhelming encounter of information. In this contemporary discourse, we consider this mundane activities with uncertainty as opportunities for learning. Drawn from information behavior studies, we summarize positive aspects of uncertainty in relation to learning. Rather than viewing uncertainty as a barrier, we conceptualize it as a catalyst for collaborative and collective growth. The language we use to describe our “treatment" of uncertainty reveals an alternative paradigm: we can "embrace" uncertainty as a natural state of learning, "navigate" it collectively, and "explore" its boundaries together. This shift in perspective transforms uncertainty from a problem to be solved into a space of possibility.
