Abstract

A fused 5,5,5,6-tetracyclic furazan energetic compound was concisely synthesized via synchronous cyclization, which possesses a high density (1.968 g·cm–3 at 100 K, 1.914 g·cm–3 at 298 K), a good stability (IS: 40 J, FS: 192 N, Td: 262 °C) and a satisfactory energy performance (Dv: 8590 m·s–1, P: 31.0 GPa). Generally, this compound has a better stability than all the reported energetic fused 5,5,5,6-tetracyclic compounds and an energy performance comparable to that of benzotrifuroxan (BTF).
