Abstract

This article presents an overview of modern educational tools and approaches, such as electronic resources, interactive whiteboards, and specialized software, which enrich the learning process and promote the development of digital competencies in graduates. The article traces the evolution of digitalization in education, from the development of computer literacy and the introduction of ICT to full-scale digital transformation. It notes that digital maturity is becoming a key benchmark for Russian universities, determining the quality of training of future specialists and their compliance with the demands of the modern world. The authors distinguish between the concepts of "digital education" and "online/distance education," emphasizing that the former is broader, encompassing the use of digital resources in both in-person and remote settings. Statistical data is provided demonstrating the growth of the Russian EdTech market and global trends in educational technology. The authors argue that, in today's environment, having relevant knowledge of working in the educational field is an essential part of being a Russian teacher. The opportunities offered by modern education for the use of digital products, as described in this article, will soon be in demand by both students and potential employers, leveraging graduates' competencies. This will allow them to implement the knowledge they acquired during their studies in their future professional activities.
