This study aims to investigate the seismic performance evaluation method for wooden frame structures with a large-section brace, as used in western-style wooden buildings. The literature review on western-style wooden buildings with a brace is conducted. Based on the findings, test specimens are designed and subjected to static loading tests to determine the seismic performance of wooden frame structures with a large-section brace. Next, an analytical model replicating the test specimens used in the experiments is constructed and subjected to static incremental analysis. The validity of the analytical model is verified by comparing the experimental results with the analytical results.
