Patients with spinal deformities pose difficulties to the operating surgeon, while performing intraocular surgeries. Those with kyphosis find it difficult to sit straight or lie down comfortably, making it a challenging process for the surgeon to operate. The purpose of this case report is to describe the management of two patients with kyphosis, who presented with cataracts for surgical extraction. Appropriate adjustments were made in the operation theatre, to ensure that they were able to comfortably lie supine during surgery. Both surgeries were uneventful, with both patients seeing 6/6, N6 in the operated eye post-operatively. With proper prior planning, intraocular surgeries can be successfully performed in patients with spinal deformities, on a flexible operating table, making use of readily available devices in the operation theatre.
