Glaucoma is an eye condition characterized by vision loss, up to and including blindness, due to damage to the retina and optic nerve resulting from increased intraocular pressure. Intraocular pressure (IOP), also known as ophthalmotonus, is the pressure exerted by intraocular fluids (aqueous humor) on the walls of the eyeball. Intraocular pressure is measured using the Tono-Pen and Tono-Vet Plus digital tonometers. In healthy animals, the IOP value should be equal in both eyes.
