Key Points

  • The aim is to investigate the relationship between genotype and phenotype in patients with nasal polyps in cystic fibrosis.
  • Analysis of patients from the cystic fibrosis registry in Turkey
  • Assessment of genetic and clinical data related to nasal polyps
  • Evaluation of the upper airway characteristics as part of cystic fibrosis management
  • Nasal polyps are associated with more severe clinical presentation in cystic fibrosis patients
  • Older patients may experience better symptom perception or adaptation over time
  • Integration of upper airway evaluation is emphasized for better cystic fibrosis management

Abstract

Although uncommon, NP is associated with more severe clinical and genetic characteristics in CF. These findings underscore the importance of integrating upper airway evaluation into CF management and highlight the potential for age-related adaptation or improved symptom perception in older patients.
