Malaysia’s agriculture sector is witnessing a high growth rate and an increasing involvement of entrepreneurs following the high returns and minimal production costs. This bibliometric analysis employs the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) based on Sustainable Development Goal or SDG 2 to determine how entrepreneurial education impacts self-efficacy, attitude, and intention. It reflects on past entrepreneurial intention research in agriculture, including mushroom production, by explaining psychological and contextual factors of how and why people decide to start a business. Scopus is a database employed to retrieve papers on entrepreneurship intention published from 1982 to February 2025. The search word “entrepreneurship intention” is utilised for extracting associated works in any language. Results from the analysis show a rise in academic interest toward entrepreneurial intention studies since 2013, noting its relevance across industries. Given that only nine or 0.83% of the empirical works is related to agricultural and biological sciences, a notable gap exists regarding the entrepreneurs’ involvement in agricultural. This empirical work makes key contributions to the body of evidence on entrepreneurial intentions following SDG 2. This study has systematically mapped the global research landscape on entrepreneurial intentions in cultivating mushroom via bibliometric tools to reveal underexplored research gaps and innovation opportunities, as well as frame its potential for contributing to SDG 2.
