Pregnancy greatly impacts skin health. Patients experience both benign skin changes during these 40 weeks and exacerbations or improvements of prior dermatologic disease. Some women may also experience pregnancy-specific dermatoses that can greatly impact the health of both mother and baby. Dermatologists play a key role in the diagnosis and management of these conditions. In this comprehensive narrative review, common skin changes, dermatoses, and medication management during pregnancy are highlighted. The goal of this review is to provide clinicians with a concise, evidence-based understanding of dermatologic disease and medication management during pregnancy.
