ABSTRACT This research reports on the impact of exfoliated fluoro graphene (FG E ) on the epoxy (EP) matrix, its structure, morphology, and thermo‐mechanical properties. Initially FG E sonicated and dispersed host EP. Band C–F (1236 cm −1 ) validate FG E exfoilation in EP matrix, traced by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy illustrated the exact D and G bands (1300 and 1605 cm −1 ), realte the presence of FG E in EP matrix. X‐ray diffraction is used to confirm the physical structure. Exfoilated FG E in EP matrix is foreseen by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Thermal conductivity increased (285% ≥) followed by excellent thermal diffusivity and specific heat, is directly proportional to the loaded FG E (0.1–0.5 wt%), measured by the Lee's disc method. Increased glass transition temperature ( T g = 58.4°C–85.7°C), proportional to the FG E loading (0.1–0.5 wt%), as verified by DSC thermogram. FG E acts as a barrier, with a hardness of (36.2% ≥) in the composite, as measured by the Shore‐D tester. Synergetic effect on tensile strength (160.9% ≥) is quantified by Universal test machine (UTM). Decreased wear rate (34%) and (≤ 16%) decline in friction were confirmed by pin‐on‐disc test tribometer. A modified EP/FG E matrix may be feasible and deployable for the automotive and aviation domains.
