ABSTRACT The present work evaluates the performance of ultrasound (US)‐assisted microreactor under different hydrodynamic conditions. A qualitative description of the model was used to explain the effects of US on the dispersion characteristics of the US‐assisted microreactor. A new modeling approach using Gaussian fit was iterated for understanding the effects on dispersion number of US‐assisted microchannel flow that is known to follow convective transport regime and were poorly fitted to dispersion model curve. The effect on dispersion number was studied by percentage enhancement of dispersion number, which was found to be 188% for very low flowrates of 20 mL/h to 20% at 60 mL/h. This phenomenon suggests the percentage enhancement that is attributed to US, which was observed to be a strong function of flowrate or hydrodynamic parameters.
