The Stayer: Sociality and Knowledge in Disrupted Worlds (Research Project Description)

This document presents a versioned research project description of the doctoral dissertation The Stayer: Sociology of Knowledge in Disrupted Lifeworlds, being conducted at the Graduate School for Social Research, Polish Academy of Sciences (GSSR PAN). The dissertation develops a social-phenomenological framework for analyzing collective staying under conditions of massive and durable disruption, first introduced in April 2025 at the VII Conference of the International Alfred Schutz Circle in Vienna, with particular focus on how everyday knowledge, meaning, and social intelligibility are maintained when familiar worlds are destabilized and everyday life is continuously ruptured across multiple dimensions.
