Nasal dermoid sinus cyst diagnosed on CT in an adult Hungarian Vizsla

Abstract Nasal dermoid sinus cysts are rare congenital anomalies in dogs , resulting from abnormal embryological development that leads to the inclusion of ectodermal and mesodermal elements within a sinus or subcutaneous tissue, along the dorsal midline. While previous literature has described their clinical and morphological characteristics, relevant veterinary studies remain limited. This case report presents a 2‐year‐old, male, neutered Hungarian Vizsla (25 kg) evaluated for a recurrent focal swelling on the bridge of the nose, accompanied by intermittent sneezing. Computed tomography was performed, leading to a presumptive diagnosis of a nasal dermoid sinus cyst . The mass was surgically excised, and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first case report documenting a nasal dermoid sinus cyst in a Hungarian Vizsla.
