Behavioral health care systems are contending with a long-standing workforce well-being crisis characterized by high rates of burnout, turnover, and absenteeism. Intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic, providers have long faced excessive workloads, emotional exhaustion, and limited organizational support. The Organizational Well-Being Inventory (OWBI) is a free continuous quality improvement tool developed to assess organizational practices that influence staff well-being, including work climate, diversity and inclusion, and professional quality of life. The OWBI provides actionable data to promote staff well-being, improve retention, and advance high-value mental health care.
