Current research on the influence and application of regional architectural culture is often limited to perceptual experience and lacks rational analysis and articulated perspectives supported by data. The research approach and methods urgently need to be refined through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Jiangsu architecture is a significant component of the broader Jiangnan, the region south of the Yangtze River in China. It has a long history and an extensive influence on regional architecture, both domestically and internationally, from ancient times to the present. As such, it serves as a highly representative subject in the study of regional architectural culture. The paper examines historical and contemporary buildings in Jiangsu by analyzing data from nationally protected heritage sites, world heritage listings, and representative constructed works published in leading architectural media (e.g., Architectural Journal). Focusing on the three aspects of “Line-Area-Point”, the study integrates quantitative and qualitative analysis to decode the culture influence of regional architecture. By establishing a multi-level, multi-source data analysis framework, this study achieves a systematic interpretation of Jiangsu's regional architecture. It effectively addresses the limitations of traditional research that relies heavily on subjective perception and lacks sufficient data support, thereby enhancing the persuasiveness of the findings. Moreover, the proposed methodology offers a reference and model for research approaches and pathways in studying the cultural influences of other regional architectural traditions.
