1 teenager with Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy presenting with multifocal atrial flutter and intra-atrial re-entrant circuits
Pulsed field ablation
Procedural outcome and complications
Pulsed field ablation can be successfully and safely utilized for complex atrial arrhythmias in pediatric patients with Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy to minimize deep anesthesia risks.
Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy is an inherited myopathy which can cause forms of tachycardia and bradycardia. We present a complex case of a patient with multiple flutter and intra-atrial re-entrant circuits with complex ablation performed. To minimize deep anesthesia risk, pulse field ablation was used with good outcome and without complication in this teenager.
