The present study aims to assess three research questions. First, what are the links between sexual ageism and the three processes underlying successful sexual aging? Second, are the associations between sexual ageism and successful sexual aging culture-specific – i.e., stronger in more collectivist/traditional cultures with stricter social regulation of sexuality, compared to more individualist and sexually permissive cultures? Third, are the associations between sexual agism and successful sexual aging gender-specific? Are the links stronger in women than men, particularly in more traditional cultures, due to their higher erotic plasticity. Details of the study rationale, methodology, analyitic plan are all included.
