Chronic contained rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysm with vertebral erosion: a diagnostic challenge and surgical management highlighted by an asymptomatic case report

Chronic contained rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysm (CCR-AAA) is a diagnostic challenge with severe consequences if missed subtype of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). It has an insidious onset and poses a significant threat. Surgery is the best treatment option; however, by the time clinical detection occurs, retroperitoneal hematoma and vertebral erosion are often already present, further complicating diagnosis and treatment. This article reports the clinical data of an asymptomatic patient with chronic rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysm admitted to the 940th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, aiming to improve the understanding of this disease.
