In standard quantum field theory, the gauge field and the matter field are independent degrees of freedom coupled by a free parameter g. In the U-Cell Model, both arise from the same physical object: the pair of tangential membrane oscillators on each lattice link. Their coherent-state parametrisation gives the SU (2) connection; their Fock-state content gives the matter section; and topological defects give fermions (skyrmions). Three consequences follow: (i) the gauge coupling is determined by the membrane stiffness (κₘem/κcell ≈ 300) ; (ii) the matter representations are forced by the Schwinger algebra; (iii) the gauge-matter vertex is a Wigner D-matrix, not a Lagrangian input.
