Abstract: Aging changes in the larynx and elsewhere in the voice mechanism recur throughout life and may become symptomatic at any age from the forties through the seventies, eighties, or nineties. Singing teachers should be familiar with expected anatomic and physiologic changes, as well as the fact that many voice symptoms usually attributed to age really are due to conditioning and can be improved through training.
