Background:The global rise in psychosomatic disorders and immune-related illnesses, especially post-COVID-19, has highlighted the urgent need for holistic preventive and therapeutic approaches. Siddha Yoga, an integral component of the Siddha medical system, combines breath regulation, physical postures, and meditative awareness to promote equilibrium in body and mind. This review explores the potential of Siddha Yoga as a complementary tool to enhance immunity and mental resilience. Aim and Objectives:To review traditional and scientific evidence supporting the role of Siddha Yoga practices in enhancing immune function and promoting psychological stability in the context of modern lifestyle stressors. Materials and Methods:A narrative review method was adopted. Classical Siddha literature was explored for references to yoga, prana, and immunity (Uyir thathukkal). Peer-reviewed journals, clinical trials, and meta-analyses from PubMed, Scopus, and AYUSH portals were examined to evaluate the physiological and psychological benefits of yoga-related practices such as pranayama, asanas, vasi yoga, and meditation. Results:Siddha Yoga practices were found to regulate the autonomic nervous system, reduce cortisol levels, and stimulate vagal tone—all markers of improved stress response and immunity. Meditation and breath control enhanced emotional stability and cognitive clarity, aiding in the development of mental resilience. Scientific literature supports yoga's role in increasing natural killer (NK) cells, improving respiratory function, and enhancing adaptive coping mechanisms. Conclusion:Siddha Yoga, through its integrative practices of breath (prana), movement, and mental stillness, offers a powerful, time-tested approach to building both physical immunity and emotional resilience. Its relevance is increasingly recognized in modern preventive health frameworks. Further clinical studies are recommended to validate its long-term impact across populations, particularly in psychosomatic and immunological disorders.
