Abstract

This presentation explains how Dataverse repositories can be configured to register DataCite DOIs and use persistent identifiers to improve discoverability, citation, and reuse of research outputs. It introduces the Dataverse Project, outlines the role of key PIDs such as DOIs, ORCID iDs, and ROR IDs, and highlights the importance of rich metadata for both discovery and reuse. The slides also cover the relationship between Dataverse, the Global Dataverse Community Consortium (GDCC), and DataCite, including DOI registration workflows, provider configuration settings, DataCite metadata export, and OAI-PMH harvesting from DataCite.
