Abstract:Objective:To investigate the current status of learned helplessness in the elderly with urinary incontinence at home,and to analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide reference for clinical nursing. Methods:A survey of 400 homebound elderly adults with urinary incontinence in Zhuzhou City,Hunan Province was conducted using the General Information Questionnaire,Learned Helplessness Scale,Self-esteem Scale,and Social Support Scale. Results:The total score of learned helplessness in the elderly with home urinary incontinence was 47.00 (30.00,62.00). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that marital status,medical insurance type,self-esteem and social support were the influencing factors of learned helplessness in the elderly with urinary incontinence at home (P<0.05). Conclusions :The learned helplessness of the elderly with urinary incontinence at home is at the moderate to low level,and there are many influencing factors,and medical staff should take targeted measures to improve the learned helplessness of the elderly with urinary incontinence at home.
