Introduction The insights of young mothers about their experiences of participating in programs designed to support them reach their educational goals in high/ secondary school offer critical evaluation evidence, but are under-explored. Methods A qualitative systematic review was undertaken to address the question: “What are the evaluations of young mothers about programs designed to support their academic achievement, as reported in the qualitative evidence?”. Results Twelve texts, reporting chiefly on evaluations of case management, alternative learning environments, and support group programs were included. Thematic synthesis captured knowledge concerning: what is important for creating conditions conducive to learning; the impacts of supportive relationships with peers and staff; the value where programs can help address a holistic range of needs young mothers may have; and the potential role of programs to help them prepare for the future. Discussion To advance efforts in the field, greater involvement of young mothers in program design and evaluation is needed. Systematic Review Registration https://osf.io/vays9 .
