The article analyzes the portrayal of the Old Believers and the relations with them in the pages of the Edinoverie (United Faith) magazine “Pravda Pravoslaviya” (“Glagol Vremen”) from 1906 to 1908. It examines the specific position of the Edinovertsy group associated with Priest Simeon Shleev, which combined loyalty to the official Orthodox Church with deep sympathy for the Old Believer ideal and sharp criticism of the Synodal system. Drawing on the magazine’s materials, the author explores a wide range of topics: from the desire for dialogue and reconciliation, including discussions about the abolition of the “anathemas” of the Councils of 1656—1667 and the establishment of an Edinoverie bishopric, to harsh polemics and confrontation in property disputes. The study shows that the magazine was not a mouthpiece for a single viewpoint but served as a platform for expressing polar opinions — from radically pro-Old Believer to conservative — demonstrating the internal complexity and intellectual vitality of the Edinoverie movement during a pivotal era.
