This is an introduction to “Locating the Protestant Spiritual Formation Movement: A Few Untold Stories,” a special subsection of the Journal of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care . In this introductory article, I attempt to locate the Protestant Spiritual Formation Movement (PSFM), consider the value of studying this movement, and explain our interest in surfacing “untold stories” of the movement. All of this will serve to complicate, in a good way, the history of the PSFM with the hope of motivating further exploration of the movement itself and its marginalized stories.
