Nature is a binding element. Therefore, it is the primary role of humans to protect the components of nature and ensure their sustainability. Plains and rivers are among the important elements that make up the elements of nature. Plains provide sustainable opportunities for human life, as well as food and shelter, which are among the needs of human life. At the same time, plains act as a bridge between the past and the future, contributing to cultural diversity and heritage. The interaction between humans and nature creates a cultural accumulation. In addition to cultural heritage and values in general, the productivity and agricultural data of Turkey's fertile plains often have a significant landscape value. This study aims to draw attention to the cultural landscape components and the sustainability of agriculture by evaluating the Bafra Plain, one of the two largest plains of Samsun Province in the Black Sea region, and its settlement texture through the agricultural landscape. The history of the Bafra Plain, its relationship with water and the values developed through agricultural activities here show the cultural and natural elements of the plain. The study evaluated the interactions between humans and the agricultural landscape within the framework of cultural legacy through research and survey of the area, map analysis, synthesis of agricultural and rural planning data. By analyzing the Bafra Plain and the Kızılırmak River environment, the study emphasizes the importance of agricultural landscapes. It proposes an example of sustainable agricultural land use.
